段落主旨与解题——从17年阅读真题谈起

10月中旬了，相信大家也做了不少真题。不知道各位有没有一种感觉，即有的题目，定位句不是那么好找，并且你也不知道为什么，但就是看某个选项顺眼，一对答案还做对了。但如果隔了一段时间没做题，再做一遍时，就容易做错。那这种玄之又玄的“手感”，很有可能其实是语段结构与主旨在辅助你得到答案。

众...所周知，英文语段多为总分结构，也即语段主旨—作者观点，描述现象，结论在前，而解释，举例在后，那知道语段结构对于我们解题有什么帮助呢？我们来看一道2017年英语一阅读中的一道难题：

But the ruling reinforces the need for citizens and their elected representatives, not the courts, to ensure equality of access to government. Officials must not be allowed to play favorites in providing information or in arranging meetings simply because an individual or group provides a campaign donation or a personal gift. This type of integrity requires well-enforced laws in government transparency, such as records of official meetings, rules on lobbying, and information about each elected leader’s source of wealth.

从解题的角度上，本道题目的题干中的定位词还是比较明显的—具体的名词短语Well-enforced laws in government transparency也即在政府透明度上执行良好的法律，定位到语段偏后的语句：This type of integrity requires well-enforced laws in government transparency...接下来问题来了，然后呢？精彩的地方来了！

本道题目的题干，使用了被动语态，翻译过来就是：在政府透明度上执行良好的法律被需要在“什么”上，按照翻译技巧-被动翻译可以从后往前翻译的思路，这个题干也可以翻译成：“什么”需要在政府透明度上执行良好的法律，那对应原文语句-This type of integrity requires well-enforced laws in government transparency...这种诚实需要在政府透明度上执行良好的法律，不难发现，这种诚实对应的就是“什么”。但诚实（integrity）有什么用呢？哪个选项有对应呢？没有！

但天无绝人之路，原文语句可不仅仅只有integrity，还有this type!代词！代词指代向...前看，所以这道题目现在答案就变成了，寻找this type的指代对象，本文的第二句：Officials must not be allowed to play favorites in providing information or in arranging meetings simply because an individual or group provides a campaign donation or a personal gift. 官员不能在提供信息或安排会面时因为某个人或某个团体提供了竞选捐款或个人礼物就有所偏袒。按照一般解析的讲法，这里抽象对具体就可以解决问题了，providing information or in arranging meetings 对应选项中的 official access官方接触，而fair play对应not be allowed to play favorites不允许厚此薄彼。但事实真的只能这样吗？

所以，这就是为什么要求大家要学会分析语段结构的原因了！难题，有了语段结构的辅助，更容易明确为何答案会选择某个选项而不是另一个选项了，从而提升解题的准确性与稳定性。
